 Karen Gager was born in England, and shares both British and Sierra Leonian heritage. After moving to Nigeria as a child, Karen went on to study 3D Design and Craft in Brighton and received a BA with Honors (2017). Over the years till date she has been in the Art Education industry and has used this to inspire other young artists of the future.

Karen 's art explores the world that she exists in as a woman and  the  conscious or unconscious connection to nature, the female body and the flux between Western and African culture. While her art explores these themes, Karen expresses them through various media and processes in paintings, drawings, mixed media, illustration and photography. She makes art that manifests particular emphasis on colour, pattern and lines.
